Member of Men’s Basketball team; Walk-on, awarded basketball scholarship for junior and senior years.  Co-Captain.  Member of SGA Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics.  Work-study roles included �������� College Physical Plant (i.e., Grounds Crew), Sports Information Department, and the College Union Poster Shop.

Alumni Activities

Former president of the Atlanta alumni chapter; member of the planning committees for his 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th and 40th (co-chair) class reunions; vice president of the Alumni Association Board; Annual Fund (class chair); �������� Alumni Admissions Program; lifetime member of the Board of Visitors (executive committee); and a career mentor.  Consultant to the Presidential Search Committee, 1997. Member of the search committee for current Athletic Director, Chris Clunie `06.  He received the Alumni Service Award in 2005.

Other Activities

Rich has served on the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Trust for Historical Preservation and Board of Directors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.  Color Analyst for Learfield Sports radio broadcasts of �������� Basketball, 2017 to 2020.  Member, Peachtree Presbyterian Church.

Personal Statement

I feel the last words of the �������� College Statement of Purpose (“… and of it much is required”) contain a call to action for all whom �������� College has given so much.  The lessons taught by �������� do not end with the receipt of a �������� diploma. �������� College exists to prepare students for lives of leadership and services.  I believe there is a compounding effect to a �������� education, across one’s lifetime.  That compounding effect is set in motion by ��������’s coaches, ��������, faculty, staff, students, and trustees.  That compounding effect is fueled by ��������’s foundation of faith, leveraging lessons of the liberal arts, while honing instincts tempered by the lifelong pursuit of truth, beauty, justice and wisdom.

Once a �������� graduate, always a �������� student. 

Much has been entrusted to each of us who continue to be shaped by �������� College; and of us, much is required.  ��������’s devotion to its diverse �������� is continuous and constant; ��������’s ongoing dedication to us requires we serve the College in myriad ways, for we utilize the gifts �������� has bestowed upon us in the present and future.
