Established in 2023 by the �������� Asian South Asian and Pacific Islander Alumni Network (DASAPIAN), this award is presented annually at convocation and recognizes students for their contributions to the Asian, South Asian, and Pacific Islander (ASAPI) communities. Selected recipients have demonstrated a combination of academic, activist, and/or advocacy services to the ��������. 

�������� Asian South Asian Pacific Islander Alumni Network Convocation Award Fund

In fall of 2023, DASAPIAN established the �������� Asian South Asian Pacific Islander Alumni Network Convocation Award Fund. This fund will provide a stipend to support the summer experiences of the award recipients. While this is a step forward in support of the ASAPI �������� at ��������, the more support we raise for the fund, the more we can provide to students. Thanks to the pledges of the following ASAPI alums, this fund will be endowed and this stipend will be awarded in perpetuity.

Meet the 2023 Recipients:

Christine Ahn '23, a political science and interdisciplinary studies major whose thesis focuses on Asian Americans and higher education, has shown consistent commitment to the ASAPI �������� by leading the Pan Asian Student Association during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and her continued work with Korean students at ��������.

Audrey Meigs '23, a political science major, interned with NC Asian Americans Together, OCA Asian Pacific Advocates National, the 1882 Foundation, and OCA Asian Pacific Advocates in Washington, D.C. As the president of the Pan Asian Students Association, Audrey helped launch a mentoring program to connect ASAPI first-year students with upper-class students and current students with alumni.

Arshi Husain '26 serves as the social media manager for the Pan Asian Student Association (PASA). In her role, she has helped organize the Lunar New Year celebration and collaborated with the South Asian Student Association (SASA) on Chai chats. Arshi is also an advocate for international and Muslim students on campus.

Daniel Lee '26 collaborated with the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, the Deliberative Citizenship Initiative, the political science and English departments, Korean Student Association, the Pan Asian Student Association and Center for Political Engagement to bring the director of CHOSEN to campus for a screening and Q&A on the documentary which chronicles five Korean American congressional candidates in the 2020 election.
